The Nike Space Hippie capsule collection continues to expand, as Nike reveals a new casualputaway.com offering of the Space Hippie 04 for the holiday season. Dressed in a Cactus Flower and Photon Dust color scheme. The Nike Space Hippie 04 features is made of at least 25% recycled material by weight, which is the lightest model from the collection and also has the lowest carbon footprint. This offering features a Purple and Pink “Space Waste Yarn” hues on the upper that includes about 75% recycled content by weight-made from recycled plastic bottles, t-shirts and yarn scraps. Its signature Crater Foam midsole completes the design.
Part of Nike’s exploratory footwear collection constructed with Nike’s own “space junk”, the Nike Shoes For Women model is composed of at least 25% recycled material by weight. This colorway dons Mystic Navy, Chambray Blue, and Coastal Blue “Space Waste Yarn” uppers with embroidered Swooshes. According to Nike, the “Space Waste Yarn” uppers include about 85% recycled polyester – made from recycled plastic bottles, t-shirts and yarn scraps. Finally, its signature speckled Crater Foam tooling in light blue rounds out the design along with a dark blue outsole.
High-cut sock uppers are made almost entirely of a gray knit material called rPoly, a variation of Nike Space Hippie 04 In Lemon/Black/Pink tech that’s constructed of recycled plastic bottles plus T-shirt and yarn scraps. This gray base is accented with volt stitching on the forefoot and midfoot, then white embroidery around the collar. A single volt/black Swoosh graces the toebox, and above this sits the signature FlyEase lacing system.
Using a two-part toggle construction that’s Hot Sale denoted with volt straps over the top of the foot and around the heel, the FlyEase system enables the wearer to tighten or loosen the high-tensile white wires that drop down from the throat onto the quarter’s lateral and medial anchor points. These anchor points are done up in a marbled blue, matching the branded tongue and heel tabs.
